Richard Greenane has been working in the IT industry for 15 years. As a researcher for Trinity College Dublin, Richard spearheaded the smart building research undertaken at the college and worked on numerous projects involving smart building technologies.

Aurium was founded in 1999 by Richard and his research partners to commercialise this research. Aurium raised significant funding and brought it's first product to market in 2002, however, by that time the industry was fickle to new technologies and without further funding, Aurium was forced to close.

In Aurium's final year, Richard had begun to provide some outsourcedIT support services to a number of small businesses. Richard quickly discovered that although IT support companies were numerous, no company appeared to provide the same level of care with their customers as Richard did. Once Aurium was successfully and amicably wound up, Richard started SupportsIT and began to deliver cost effective IT management to our customers.

Today, as well as running the business, Richard takes a hands-on approach and continues to service most of the customers that he had when he started the business.

Disaster prevention is Richard's mantra, and he definitely prefers prevention over cure, although he says that cure pays a lot more!
